Ms. Lefko practices exclusively in the area of tax whistleblower claims. Prior to joining the Ferraro Law Firm, Ms. Lefko served as an aide to Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut and to Congressman Cal Dooley of California.

Ms. Lefko’s practice before the Internal Revenue Service includes making submissions to the IRS Whistleblower Office. She has handled both domestic and international tax issues. Ms. Lefko regularly handles matters involving complex partnership and pass-through taxation issues and issues related to the Research and Experimentation Credit; income tax accounting and timing; employment taxes; employee benefits taxation; the taxation of financial products, financial derivatives, and debt instruments; aviation taxation; timber and natural resource taxation; and the taxation of intellectual property. Ms. Lefko also has extensive experience with international issues, such as the taxation of foreign currency transactions, tax issues related to offshore entities and offshore hedge funds, and the taxation of foreign corporate reorganizations. She is especially knowledgeable in the area of IRS penalties.

Ms. Lefko is a certified mediator, earning her certification at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. Her legal studies abroad also include studying International Commercial Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France, and studying European business and property law through the University of Zagreb (Croatia) School of Law in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Ms. Lefko is a member of the National Order of the Barristers, an honorary society recognizing excellence in oral advocacy. She is a fluent Spanish speaker.
